What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text records placed by a website or its authorised provider in a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags and software-development-kit identifiers. They can remember a choice, maintain a secure session, measure page operation or support advertising. A cookie does not by itself read arbitrary files from your device, but information associated with it can become personal data when linked to an identifiable visitor.
Some storage lasts only for the browser session; other records remain until expiry or deletion. First-party technologies are set for our domain. Third-party technologies are controlled by another provider, such as Google, under that provider’s terms. Browser settings may show more entries than this policy because hosting, security and embedded services can change their technical names over time.
